Taher Aminikharrazi, D.M.D. (Tony Amini)
Dr. Amini decided to become a dentist because he enjoys transforming people’s lives by improving their oral health. “When you improve people’s chewing ability, get them out of pain or improve the appearance of their teeth, you can really increase their self-esteem and improve their quality of life,” he says.
Dr. Amini’s dedication to perfection and his interest in dentistry propelled him through many years of advanced post-graduate training so he could become a certified specialist in rehabilitating patients’ smiles. Many general dentists in the area send their patients to our office because of Dr. Amini’s expertise and his ability to treat complex cases.
Dr. Amini is friendly, caring and easy to talk to. He will make you feel at ease by listening to your needs and explaining everything very thoroughly so that you fully understand all your options and treatment steps.
Education: Highly trained specialist in smile rehabilitation
Dr. Amini has received extensive training in the art and skill of restoring a patient’s mouth to full function and beauty. After graduating with his D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from Boston University, Dr. Amini went on to receive advanced training in a residency at the University of California, San Francisco to obtain his certification as a prosthodontist.
Following this, he completed a surgical fellowship in implant dentistry and earned his certificate in implantology at the Loma Linda School of Dentistry.
Continuing Education
Dr. Amini is continually to educate himself and upgrade his practice with the latest techniques and approaches with the intention to provide his patients the best in dental care.
He participates in many continuing education courses with leaders in dental technology and education, such as with Spear Education, one of the most respected dental education institutes. He also leads a local Spear Study Club, a peer-based continuing education group that helps him raise the standard of patient care in our community.
Awards and Honors
- As a pre-doctoral student, Dr. Amini was distinguished amongst his colleagues by earning an American College of Prosthodontist award for outstanding undergraduate achievement in the Study of Prosthodontics and the Lloyd Chaisson award for outstanding achievement in the Art & Science of Operative Dentistry.
- Dr. Amini has been recognized by Nobel Biocare™, a world-leading manufacturer and educator in the field innovative implant-based dental restorations, for his dedication to implant dentistry and outstanding achievement in Nobel Biocare’s Partner Program.
- Dr. Amini has been recognized for his restorative work by Orange Coast Magazine and as a “Top Dentist” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
An award-winning professor of prosthodontics and implant
In addition to operating his own private practice, Dr. Amini is an assistant professor at Loma Linda University, where he lectures to residents in the Center for Prosthodontic and Implant Dentistry. His teaching position allows him to stay at the forefront of his field and to share his expertise with others. Dr. Amini has been honored by the university with an award for his time, dedication and contributions to the Advanced Education in Implant Dentistry Program.

Interests
In his spare time, Dr. Amini enjoys reading, attending orchestral concerts and plays, and staying active by playing tennis, cycling and hiking.
Dr. Mahin Farzin, D.D.S.
After graduating from the University of California, San Francisco with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Mahin Farzin began practicing dentistry at Design Dental Group. A personable, friendly doctor, she delivers gentle, caring treatment to our general dentistry and younger patients.
Dr. Farzin enjoys helping people achieve their goals to have a confident smile and good oral health. She is very warm and friendly and excels at making our patients feel comfortable throughout their treatment. She uses a gentle touch in her dental work and utilizes the offices state-of-the-art technology for minimally invasive treatment. She is a great listener and makes it a point to understand exactly what you need and want.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children, swimming, baking and exercising.
